OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) recreation is an exhilarating, fun way to experience the outdoors. Off-roaders have invented their own slang: braap-braap means hello, go juice is gasoline, etc. However, when out riding, the noise of the machines and the safety risks involved have caused riders to come up with a "language of the trail". Let's see how well you know the language of the trail in this interactive chose your own adventure game. You picked the perfect vehicle for camping on backcountry dirt roads, rock crawling, mudbogging and being a beast on the obstacle course. 4x4 or 4WD's are vehicles with a drivetrain system that delivers power to all four wheels, enhancing traction and control particularly on challenging terrains. Think Jeeps, Land Rovers, the all-electric Rivian or trucks like the Tacoma (Taco), and the multitude of Ram, Ford, Chevy, GMC and Nissan models. While these vehicles can go in areas other vehicles cannot reach, they are easily the largest and heaviest rigs on the trails. Before you leave home, you... Several design features set SxSs apart from other OHV machines. These new turbo vehicles come with a wide variety of safety features designed to protect the rider and their passengers. A roll cage, seat belts, doors, a godlike suspension, incredible handling, lightning speed steering response all contribute to a fabulously safe and fun machine but only when the driver operates it responsibly within their abilities and with caution for the terrain. SxS riders are the second largest machine on the trail and are often the fastest as their suspension can handle the twists and jostling that other rigs must slow down for. This machine can handle most things that come at it, but it does have a few weaknesses: when it goes down, it goes down HARD and it still isn't able to overcome user error (that means an inexperienced driver) Before you leave home, you... Their lightweight frame makes maneuvering technical trails a breeze! Dirt bikes are a great choice for exploring trails. Now when it comes down to 2-stroke verses 4-stroke... they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Dirt bikes with a 2-stroke engine power up faster and their smaller engines make them more lightweight and easier to maintain. Dirt bikes with a 4-stroke engine are heavier, which allows for more stability. They also provide steady and consistent power, making steep trails easier to climb for the rider. All of this power and speed makes for an exciting and fun day out on the trails, however, you still have to ride within your means (ride only within your ability and knowledge).
